Salman Khan's Radhe was bashed by critics and audiences alike.
Salman Khan starrer Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, which released on Eid this year, has been making headlines after the superstar sent critic-actor KRK a defamation notice. According to KRK’s tweet, Salman filed the case over his review of Radhe. The critic had pleaded to Salman’s father Salim Khan to take the case back, promising he would delete the review.
Now Salim has bashed the film too. He stated that the movie was released so people could recover their money.
In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Salim Khan opened up stating, “Radhe is not a great film at all, but commercial cinema has a responsibility that every person can get money. From artists to producers, distributors, exhibitors and every stakeholder should get the money. The one who buys the cinema must get the money. Due to this, the cycle of cinema making and business goes on. On this basis, Salman has performed. Stakeholders of this film are at an advantage. Otherwise, Radhe is not that great a film.”
Salim reviews every Salman Khan film. In fact, Salman himself has accepted that his father, who is a renowned and one of the most respected writers from the industry, is his harshest critic.
Radhe was also among the few films which were stuck owing to COVID-19 lockdown. The makers completed shooting for the film during the partial lockdown, and released the movie in 2021 itself, after a year’s delay.
The Prabhudheva directorial also stars Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles, as the female lead and the antagonist respectively. Radhe also features Jackie Shroff and Gautam Gulati in pivotal roles.
The movie was released in theatres and on Zee5 and ZeePlex simultaneously. While the movie did not earn at the Box Office, it was reportedly one of the highest streamed content on OTT this year.
