The actress will be playing a lecturer in the Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa film
Model-turned-actress Rachna Shyam is on cloud nine as she is all set for big debut in the Hindi film industry. The actress will be part of director Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa's suspense thriller, which will have Kantara fame Kishore in the lead along with Sangeetha Rajeev. The story for the film is penned by music composer Dharm Vish. Interestingly, Dharm and Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa had collaborated for the film Ratharva earlier. And Dharm will be composing music for Red Collar as well.
Meanwhile, Rachana plays a law lecturer Chandana, whose character will be high on glam, akin to Sushmita Sen's character in Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na. It is said that some of her onscreen moments might remind the audience of the iconic scenes from the 2004 film.
Rachna, who bagged the role after a series of tough auditions, later prepped for her character by attending workshops. Talking about how she landed the role, Rachna says, “Yes, I was one of the last persons to get on board, that too, at the last minute. While I had very little time for prep, I am not complaining. I believe what is meant for you, comes to you at the right time. I attended workshops to train and also researched for my character Chandana who is extremely fashion-conscious.”
The actress says that she also underwent a lot some hardcore research for her look in the film. She wanted to ensure that her character was high on fashion and glamourous, but at the same time, that it stood apart. Red Collar has been shot across Bengaluru and Lucknow. The actress also states that working with Kishore was a learning experience.
Interestingly, this will be the first full-fledged Hindi film for Kishore as well who is riding on the success of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan and Rishab Shetty's Kantara. While the actor plays the Pandya magician Ravidasan in the former, he plays forest officer Muralidhar in the latter.
