The first-look poster of Honey Rose's forthcoming film, Rachel, was released earlier today. Helmed by debutant Anandhini Bala, the film is bankrolled by director Abrid Shine.
By the looks of it, the film is an intense, violent thriller. The motion poster begins with a scene at a butcher shop, with hooks and a butcher knife firmly lodged into a wooden surface. As the motion poster progresses, the camera zooms out from the face of Honey Rose, who is seen holding a blood-stained butcher's knife.
From its first look, the film is expected to be violent and gory.
Sharing her excitement at the launch of the first-look poster, Honey Rose posted on social media, “Sharing a wonderful thought: some of my best work hasn’t happened yet! I believe it's time. Meet my new persona, Rachel. Extremely delighted to see the first look of my upcoming movie Rachel, presented by Abrid Shine!"
The script for the film has been written by Abrid Shine and poet Rahul Manappatt. It is based on an original story by Rahul. M.R. Rajakrishnan, who received the National Award for Best Audiography for Rangasthalam, heads the sound mixing department. The film also has State Award winners Chandru Selvaraj and Sree Sankar as cinematographer and sound designer, respectively. While Ankit Menon has composed the music.
Rachel is set for a pan-Indian release and will be released in Hindi, English, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu.
Honey Rose made her acting debut with the 2005 film Boy Friend. She is known for portraying strong female characters in films like Trivandrum Lodge and Hotel California.
Her previous films include Monster in Malayalam and Veera Simha Reddy in Telugu. Monster was her second outing with Mohanlal after Big Brother, which was released in the year 2020.
