Raayan marks Dhanush’s 50th film and is an action drama centered around a gangster. With AR Rahman scoring the music, the film has received an A certificate after completing censor formalities.
The long-awaited trailer update of Dhanush’s upcoming film Raayan, is finally out. The film, which is scheduled to hit big screens on July 26, will drop its trailer on Tuesday (July 16), the makers announced on social media on Sunday. Apart from starring in the film, actor Dhanush has also turned into a filmmaker and helmed the project.
The makers are planning to drop the trailer of Raayan, upcoming Tamil film headlined by Dhanush, on social media on Tuesday. Backed by Sun Pictures banner, Raayan is scheduled to hit big screens on July 26. The film is written and directed by Dhanush, who stars in the titular character.
Raayan marks Dhanush’s second directorial after Pa Paandi. Apart from him, the film also features actors Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, and Prakash Raj play important roles in the film. AR Rahman is scoring the music for the film. Kalidas and Sundeep will be playing the role of Raayan’s brothers, with Dushara playing the sister.
The audio launch event of Raayan took place recently in Chennai. The event will soon premiere on SunNXT app and OTTplay Premium on July 21. Composer Rahman and Dhanush performed at the event, and you can also catch the cast and crew’s speech about the film.
Raayan marks Dhanush’s 50th film as lead actor. Much contrary to reports that state Selvaraghavan has written the story, the filmmaker denied and said Raayan’s is based on Dhanush’s story and script.

Set to be an action drama revolving around a gangster, Raayan has completed censor formalities with an an A certificate, making it second film for Dhanush after Vada Chennai, to get such a rating. The technical crew consists of cinematographer Om Prakash and editor Prasanna GK.
