Raayan plot revealed! Fans claim that the storyline of Dhanush-starrer is similar to THIS Vijay movie

Dhanush’s ambitious directorial Raayan has been one of the most talked about projects in recent times. Although the first-look poster was revealed earlier, the makers had been tight-lipped about the central plot of the film. Amid several speculations, a few insider sources now reveal the interesting story behind Raayan.

Reports suggest that the upcoming gangster drama revolves around Raayan, played by Dhanush, who works as a cook at a restaurant situated in North Madras. At one point, the mystery behind his past is revealed, which shocks everyone around him. It appears that the 'regular' cook was a former gangster with a secret past. Kalidas and Sundeep are rumoured to be playing the role of Raayan’s (Dhanush) brothers.

Although the team has not revealed much, fans claim that the film's storyline is similar to that of Vijay-starrer Leo. For the unversed, Vijay-starrer Leo is also centred around a coffee owner and his dark past of being a gangster. However, we may have to wait a little more to find out what Raayan has in-store for the fans!

Selvaraghavan to play a cameo?

The name of Selvaraghavan, director and brother of actor Dhanush, has been buzzing among social media users ever since the film’s title and first-look poster were released. The latest buzz suggests that the director has been roped in to play a cameo role in the gangster drama. Only the character posters of Dhanush, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishana and SJ Surya have been unveiled, so we don’t know whether the rumour mills have been telling the truth. Nevertheless, the film promises to throw in a lot of surprises, and we cannot wait to know more!

Raayan post-production works in full swing

As per latest reports, the Dhanush directorial has completed its shooting and the dubbing sessions are under way currently. If everything goes smoothly, we can expect the film to have a summer release, as promised by the makers; most probably a May or June release.

Directed by Dhanush, Raayan marks the actor's 50th film in his acting career. The movie also stars Dushara Vijayan who will be playing the female lead opposite Dhanush. The music has been composed by maestro A R Rahman, while the film also features a dance number choreographed by Prabhu Deva.
