Raayan is an upcoming Tamil film which is headlined by Dhanush. Interestingly, the film also marks the actor's second directorial venture after Pa Paandi. Raayan cast

Raayan features a star-studded cast. The film is headlined by Dhanush himself who will be playing the titular role. Apart from him, actors Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, and Prakash Raj play important roles in the film.

Raayan crew

Raayan is directed by Dhanush himself. The upcoming film will mark his second directorial venture after Pa Paandi. Though reports claimed that Selvaraghavan penned Rayaan, these were denied. Dhanush has written the script of Raayan and it will be the first time he will be directing his brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan. Raayan has music by AR Rahman, and has been shot by cinematographer Om Prakash. Prasanna GK has edited the film, with Sun Pictures' backing.

Raayan runtime and censor

Raayan has completed its censor formalities and received an A certificate, making the film suitable for adult audiences only. It is the second film of Dhanush, after Vada Chennai, to receive an A certificate. Raayan has a runtime of two hours and 25 minutes.

Raayan release date

Raayan is all set to hit theatres on July 26, two weeks after the release of Indian 2. For now, the film will be enjoying a solo release, with no other big films to compete at the box office.

Raayan plot

Raayan's plot is said to be a gangster drama, set in the northern suburbs of Chennai. Dhanush plays a cook at a restaurant. At one point, the mystery behind his past is revealed, which shocks everyone around him. It appears that the 'regular' cook was a former gangster with a secret past. Kalidas and Sundeep will be playing the role of Raayan’s brothers, with Dushara playing the sister.

Raayan is Dhanush's milestone

Raayan is Dhanush's 50th outing as lead actor. In the past, Dhanush has proven to be a versatile actor by donning different roles. With Raayan, Dhanush will be once again going to north Chennai after his critically acclaimed hit film Vada Chennai.

Raayan OTT rights

Raayan's OTT partner has not yet been revealed. However, it is expected that the film will be available on SunNXT after a stipulated time period from the time of release.
