After dabbling with a series of light-hearted comedy roles, Pelli Choopulu find Abhai Naveen tried his hand at an action drama with a film titled Raakshasa Kaavyam. He shared screenspace alongside the equally talented Anvesh Michael in the film, that marked the directorial debut of Sriman Keerthi. The drama, which hit screens on Octoeber 13, is gearing up for its digital premiere.

Nearly two months after its theatrical run, Raakshasa Kaavyam is all set to arrive on OTT. Leading streaming platform aha has acquired the post-theatrical digital rights of the actioner and confirmed the premiere date on social media. The film will land on aha on December 15. Damu Reddy and Singanamala Kalyan produced the film under Garuda Productions, Cinevalley Movies and Pingo Pictures.

Raakshasa Kaavyam revolves around Ajay (Abhai Naveen) and Vijay (Anvesh Michael). While the former is a contract killer who has high regard for students, Vijay is a wannabe filmmaker, desperate to tell a story glorifying baddies. Why are Ajay and Vijay pitted against one another? Who’ll have the upper hand in their tussle? Watch out for the film on OTT this Friday to know more.

The director stated that the film is a modern-day re-imagination of a mythological tale and the premise drew praise from critics. The performances of Abhai Naveen, Anvesh Michael, Pawon Ramesh and Dayanand Reddy were lauded too. The slow pace of the second half is a dampener, opined a section of viewers. Rohini Aretty Kushalini, Yadamma Raju are also part of the cast.

Rushi Konapuram was the cinematographer for the film which had music and background score by Rajeev Raj and Srikanth M. Mittapalli Surender and Sriman Keerthi were the lyricists while Naveen Reddy and Vasundhara Devi were the co-producers. Umesh Chikku was the executive producer. Gandhi Nadikudikar was the art director with Naren Annasagara handling costume design.
