R Balki to direct Abhishek Bachchan in a cricket based drama film?

Balki has recently unveiled the motion poster of his upcoming film Chup: Revenge of the Artist.

Filmmaker R Balki recently unveiled the motion poster of his upcoming film Chup: Revenge of the Artist. The psychological thriller stars Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles.

Meanwhile, the director is also gearing up to cast Abhishek Bachchan as the lead in his next venture.

According to Pinkvilla, the upcoming film is going to be a cricket-based drama. A source close to the development told the portal that the Paa director, who has been closer to the Bachchan family for a while, had been discussing the possibilities of collaborating with Jr Bachchan on a feature film from the last few years.

“Things have finally fallen in place as the two have initiated advanced conversations for a cricket-based film. It would feature Jr Bachchan as a left-handed batsman,” the source added.

Furthermore, the source added that the filmmaker is also planning to make a human drama film with Deol, Revathi and Shruti Haasan, which is being delayed for now due to Deol’s ongoing shoot for Gadar 2.

According to the entertainment website, the sports drama movie is possible to go on floors sometime next year after the completion of the next instalment of Abhishek’s web series Breathe: Into The Shadows and Balki’s highly anticipated project Chup: Revenge of the Artist

The Cheeni Kum director’s untitled next film will reportedly feature both the male and female leads as cricketers.

Meanwhile, Bachchan is currently busy shooting for the highly anticipated crime thriller film Bob Biswas, which is said to be the spin-off of an antagonist character from the 2012 thriller Kahaani that stars Vidya Balan. The forthcoming film also stars Chitrangada Singh.
