Even after 37 years of its release, The Terminator remains one of the most awe-inspiring films of all time. Not only did the film launch filmmaker James Cameron’s career, but it also turned Arnold Schwarzenegger into a global star. The indie film, made on a limited budget, went on to spawn a blockbuster franchise, and the sequel, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, shattered global box-office records and garnered universal acclaim.

Cameron has helmed other major blockbusters such as Aliens, Titanic, and Avatar. Sequels to the Avatar franchise are expected to be released in the coming years.
