The film, directed by Luv Ranjan, was panned by critics, but found resounding appeal among audiences, and catapulted the actor’s status as the boy-next-door. This was followed by Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in 2018, after which he forayed into roles with a romantic undertone in films like Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh (both of which released in 2019). The actor is presently gearing up for Ram Madhvani’s Netflix thriller, Dhamaka where he will essay the role of a journalist.
