Quentin Tarantino says Kill Bill Vol 3 could be his next film, but wants to make a Spaghetti Western first

When he was asked whether Kill Bill Vol 3 would ever see the light of day, Quentin Tarantino said, "Why not?"

Quentin Tarantino has time and again said that he would only shoot a total of 10 films in his career. The filmmaker, whose last project was Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was recently asked if he intended to direct a third instalment to the Kill Bill franchise.

At the Rome Film Festival, according to a report in Variety Tarantino revealed that he has not completely killed the idea of pursuing Kill Bill Vol 3. When he was asked whether the film would ever see the light of day, he simply responded, "Why not?"

However, Tarantino said that he wants to make a Spaghetti Western first. "I’m looking forward to shooting that [thing] because it’s going to be really fun. Because I want to shoot it in the Spaghetti Western style where everybody’s speaking a different language," he said in a conversation with RFI director Antonio Monda. Tarantino was awarded a lifetime achievement award at the event.

Slash Film notes that Tarantino had spoken about his idea for Kill Bill Vol 3 shortly after the release of the sequel in 2004. The auteur had told Entertainment Weekly that the story will follow Vernita Green's (Vivica A Fox) daughter, Nikki who is raised by Sofie Fatale (Julie Dreyfus). He added that the this film would follow Nikki's pursuit in seeking revenge for her mother's killing by the Bride.

Tarantino is known for films that are critically acclaimed and have also achieved cult following over the year. Once Upon a Time led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, was set in the last moments of Hollywood's Golden Age. The comedy-drama was a box office hit, and went on to win 10 nominations at the 2019 Oscars with a Best Supporting Actor award for Pitt.
