Starring Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao, and Lisa Haydon in lead roles, Queen will mark its tenth anniversary on March 7, 2024.
The sequels of successful films have become a big thing in Bollywood. After the success of sequels like Gadar 2, Fukrey 2, and the announcement of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, now Vikas Bhal has also joined the bandwagon with his iconic film Queen. It was earlier reported that Bahl, the director of the critically acclaimed film Queen has been working on the follow-up script. The good news doesn't stop here, the recent update now is that the script for 'Queen 2' is 'locked and ready'.
The director is currently occupied with the promotions of his upcoming supernatural film, Shaitaan starring Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan. In an interview with News18, when he was asked for an update on the Kangana Ranaut starrer, the director told the portal, "It is going to be ten years of Queen’s release but the number of people who keep asking me about Queen 2 makes me feel like the film released just yesterday! However, I am happy to say that we have actually finished writing our story. So, yes, the sequel should happen."
Speaking further on the delay in the making of the sequel, Vikas said, "Na shohrat, na paisa, bas pyaar mein hi chal raha hai mera (laughs)."

He added that he is aware of the fact that Queen would have given him the money as it's a money maker film but he was adamant that he wouldn't proceed with the work on the film until he had a narrative that lived up to the high standards which were set by the critically acclaimed film Queen. "It wasn’t an easy task, so we waited," he said.
Kangana Ranaut (Rani) plays a simple woman in the film who decides to go on her honeymoon in Europe alone after her fiancé (Rajkummar Rao) leaves her one day before their wedding. On her trip, she discovers herself and finds ways to happiness that doesn't involve depending on others. Lisa Haydon also had an extended cameo in the film. The film was a hit amongst audiences and is still appreciated for its storyline, performances, and songs.
