The crime thriller set amid the backdrop of child marriages has been created, co-directed and produced by Pingle Pranav Reddy
Shedding new light on the disturbing practice of getting children/girls married to elderly men in return of petty gains within Hyderabad, a new Telugu show, Qubool Hai, is all set to make a mark in the digital space. Created by Pingle Pranav Reddy, he has co-directed it alongside Umair Hasan and Faiz Rai besides producing it. The show, whose first look was released by the Telugu OTT platform aha, a few days ago now has a release date. Qubool Hai will be premiering on aha across the globe on March 11.
Commemorating Shivaratri, the teaser of the show, starring a few known faces like Vinay Varma, Sai Kamakshi Bhaskarla (Maa Oori Polimera, Priyuraalu fame) was released by aha. The teaser starts with a man who keeps rejecting a few women queuing up in front of him. Structured more like a crime thriller, the focus shifts to the whereabouts of a young girl Ameena. There are conversations between cops, while elderly men looking forward to marrying young girls, a young Muslim woman, a group of journalists in the glimpse too.
Mirage Media presents the show and aims for Qubool Hai to be a conversation starer around the topic of child brides across the globe. Kartik Parmar has cranked the camera for the show with Jerry Silvester Vincent coming on board as the music director. The technical team of Qubool Hai comprises its editors Arvind Menon, Tanya Chhabria, production designer Rohan Singh, costume designer Lipsa Jain, art director Urmez Bhote, to name a few.
