The Amazon Prime Video Original Tamil anthology will start premiering on January 14,
The streaming giant Amazon Prime Video had recently announced that they are coming up with the second instalment of Putham Pudhu Kaalai on January 14. The Tamil anthology, featuring five short films, has been titled Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadha. Balaji Mohan, Halitha Shameem, Madhumita, Richard Anthony and Surya Krishna are the directors this time.
After releasing a short teaser along with the announcement earlier, they have now come up with a two-minute trailer, providing a glimpse into the characters of each artists in the project. Gouri G Kishan, Teejay Arunasalam, Arjun Das, Lijo Mol Jose, Joju George, Nadia Moidu, Dhilip Subbarayan, Sananth, Nirmal Pillai and Aishwarya Lekshmi will be seen essaying lead roles in the film.
Loners will have Lijomol, who shot to fame with Amazon Prime Video's Jai Bhim, playing an employee who is suffering from boredom due to WFH. As time passes by, she finds solace in Arjun Das, who plays a pet lover. Mugakavasa Mutham has Gouri and Teejay essaying the roles of police constables who take up the duties of frontline workers.
The Mask has Sananth and Dhilip Subbarayan, two school friends meeting after a long time during the lockdown. While the former is a happy-go-lucky-guy, the latter is a gangster. Mouname Paarvayaai has Aishwarya Lekshmi and Nirmal Pillai suffering from loneliness during the time of pandemic.
Mouname Paarvayaai revolves around the beautiful, but complex emotions shared between the characters played by Nadiya Moidu and Joju George. Richard Anthony and Surya Krishna are making their directorial debut with this project while Balaji Mohan and Madhumita have made their OTT debuts earlier.
Though Halitha has made acclaimed movies for theatres earlier, Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadha is her first direct-to-OTT project. Putham Pudhu Kaalai, which dropped on the digital platform in 2020, too, had five episodes each, directed by Sudha Kongara, Suhasini, Karthik Subbaraj, Rajiv Menon and Gautham Menon.
