Jisshu U Sengupta was offered the role of the main villain of Pushpa: The Rising. However, the actor has to give it a miss. Then the character went to Fahadh Faasil who received a lot of appreciation from the viewers and critics alike. Later, Jisshu admitted that he got the offer of the role of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the villain cop pitted against Allu Arjun in the action-packed superhit entertainer.

While Jisshu missed working on Pushpa: The Rising, the actor may appear in the sequel of Allu Arjun’s film, Pushpa: The Rule. Though there has not been any confirmation from the production team, director, or the actor, there is a rumour that the Bengali actor has already bagged the character. Rumour has it that the character of the villain of the sequel went to Vijay Sethupathi. However, the South superstar had to turn it down due to his previous commitments in November. After this, the role has been offered to Jisshu.

Meanwhile, Pushpa: The Rule will feature Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandana, and Fahadh Faasil. The production house has recently announced the sequel. The film was initially scheduled to be shot at Bankura in West Bengal. After a series of media reports, the makers decided not to shoot it in a place after the location is revealed. The makers are tightlipped about the schedule. The film may be released later this year. Pushpa: The Rise opened to positive reviews in 2021 and the Telugu film was dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada as well. The Hindi dubbed version earned more than Rs 100 cr from the box office. The film emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema in 2021. Allu Arjun emerged as a global star and was chosen as the Grand Marshall in the annual Indian Day Parade in New York, US.
