Allu Arjun and his entire legion of fans are an incredibly happy bunch at the moment following the actor's momentous win at the 69th National Film Awards. As Allu Arjun described it himself, it was a 'double achievement' for him because he took home the Best Actor award for a full-blown commercial film like Pushpa: The Rise, which is among the biggest pan-Indian successes of recent times. But turns out that isn't the only cause for celebration for the 41-year-old actor.

At the recent special event held in honour of the National Film Award winners from the Telugu Film Industry, Allu Arjun was joined by his long-time collaborator and friend Devi Sri Prasad on the stage. Devi Sri Prasad, or DSP, won the award in the Best Music Director category and considering the duo goes back a long way, the moment of combined glory must have been extra special for the two of them. A visibly enlivened Allu Arjun would then explain why it was all so surreal for him.

"It is so special receiving this award with Devi (Sri Prasad) because I have been urging him to work in Hindi films almost since the time Arya came out. Since 20 years, I mean. I would say that as a hero, it would be tough for me to make that switch but for technicians, that shouldn't be the case. Back then, being part of Hindi cinema was a distant thing to achieve. However, he would casually say 'I will follow you when you do a Hindi film' and it remained that way all along. But, look how it all panned out eventually. Pushpa would work wonders in Hindi and both of us would go there to receive awards for a Hindi film. So, receiving that award with him is so surreal," said Allu Arjun.

Of course, many would know that Devi Sri Prasad did eventually find a place in Hindi cinema when he recomposed some of his superhit Telugu songs in films like 'Ready', 'Maximum', 'Bhaag Johnny', 'Radhe' and others. He may not have worked extensively outside of Telugu and Tamil film industries but it is safe to say that his reputation as a top composer precedes him today. The songs of the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise, particularly Saami Saami and Srivalli, are big hits in their own respective rights.
