The Allu Arjun starrer wildfire film has been reigning for the past eight days at the box office and seems to be in no mood to back out because the numbers it is still managing to garner reveal that it is here to stay consistent and not fade so soon. Led by Allu and Rashmika Mandanna, it was the most anticipated movie across the country with its demand spread far and wide. The fact that it is earning the most in Hindi says a lot about how much the audience was craving this sequel to the 2021 movie. This has now led to the film becoming the Highest Grossing Indian Movie Of The Year. You read that right. Below is everything you should know about the same.

Pushpa 2 Becomes Highest-Grossing Indian Movie Of 2024

Pushpa 2 directed by Sukumar, stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, and an ensemble that recurs from the first film. The storyline takes place sometime after the events of the first film, and we meet a now happily married Pushpa, who still continues to have Shekhawat as a lingering threat around him. The story moves on to the fact that Pushpa still doesn't have a family name behind him, and it goes on to establish that. Anything more than this will be a spoiler.

By the end of Day 8, Pushpa 2 in India had earned Rs 37.9 crore. This brought the total collection of the movie to approximately Rs 726.25 crore net by Day 8. This means the movie is now on its way to achieving the Rs 800 crore mark in India alone. The overseas collection has already crossed Rs 1000 crore and was around Rs 1042 crore as per the last reports. All of this has resulted in the Allu Arjun starrer becoming the Highest Grossing Indian Film of 2024. Meanwhile, the movie is also on its way to challenge Baahubali: The Conclusion which is the second-highest-grossing film of all time.

Beats KGF Chapter 2 Hindi Lifetime

Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the leading roles, was one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and when it was finally released, it managed to break all records. It was yesterday when we learned that the film is over Rs 1000 crore strong worldwide and is the fastest Indian movie to earn Rs 1000 crore. So now, when the latest numbers come in, we are not surprised that the film has managed to beat KGF: Chapter 2's lifetime collection in just eight days, as the movie has now earned Rs 27.5 crore on the eighth day of release.

The Hindi collection of Pushpa 2 now stands at a staggering Rs 435.5 crore in Hindi, which is ahead of KGF: Chapter 2 which earned Rs 434.62 crore in the Hindi circuit in its lifetime. Add to this, the movie is now just Rs 75 crore away from beating Baahubali 2, which had earned Rs 511 crore in its lifetime. It will be interesting to see what the movie manages to establish next because there is no stopping now, and even the small drops will be covered when the movie enters another weekend.
