The team of Liger came together for the trailer launch at a theatre in Hyderabad today
Vijay Deverakonda is now the cynosure of all eyes as he tries to test his worth as a pan-Indian star with the action entertainer Liger. The film, directed by Puri Jagannadh, features Ananya Panday as the female lead while featuring Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ramya Krishna, Getup Srinu, Ali and others in crucial roles. Liger’s trailer launch was held in Hyderabad in the presence of fans, cast and crew today.
The trailer promised a typical Puri Jagannadh fare with ample doses of on-field action, romance and emotions. At the event, the director praised Vijay Deverakonda to the hilt, opining he’s the next big thing in Indian cinema and received a thumbs-up from audiences when he asked them, ‘How is Vijay in the film?’ “We have a month to go for the release. Keep your enthusiasm intact. We have brought Karan Johar only to introduce him to you all,” he told Vijay’s fans.
Vijay Deverakonda said, “This is ‘mental’ mass. This is just a trailer. What have I done to receive so much from you all? My previous release two years ago wasn’t a noteworthy film either. Many fans were anxious that there weren’t many updates from the team. Now, we have a month left and all I’ll say is ‘aag lagadenge’ on August 25. We’ll shake the country.” Like his character in the film, he stammered and said ‘I love you’ to his fans too.
Ananya Panday had reportedly heard a lot of things about the love of the film-going crowd in Hyderabad and stated she was beyond thrilled to experience it for the first time. “I am so eager to be part of your family. This is crazy, I just love the Telugu audiences. Hope you liked the trailer,” she was all pumped up. Karan Johar requested the crowds to reserve their excitement for the film as well on August 25.
Liger also stars Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, Ali, Getup Srinu, Vishu Reddy, Makarand Desh Pandey and Mike Tyson. The film is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmee Kaur, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under Puri Connects and Dharma Productions. Kecha is the stunt director and Vishnu Sarma has cranked the camera. Junaid Siddiqui has edited the film.
