Pruthvi Ambaar on his 2-film clash on February 23: Both teams have valid reasons

Kannada actor Pruthvi Ambaar has been in quite the dilemma this February; he was looking at 3 releases in a short span, with 2 films coming out on the same day. At a time when getting audiences to theatres even for 1 film is a big challenge, Pruthvi has the task of urging people to watch 3 of his movies in within a two-week span. On February 9, his film Juni came out, and even though it had fairly positive reviews, the team struggled to get footfalls, with Pruthvi taking to social media repeatedly to talk about the film to gather traction.

Up next, the actor has Matsyagandha and For Regn coming out on February 23. While the former is a gritty tale set in Uttara Kannada and has him playing a cop for the first time, For Regn is a feel-good romantic drama about how relationships have to ‘register’ in the minds of those in it for the bond to be built and strengthened. While Pruthvi says that he does not have a love interest in Matsyagandha and that the story is the hero, in For Regn he is paired with Milana Nagaraj.

Talking about the clash between his films, Pruthvi says that he tried his best to convince the teams of all three of his movies to figure out a plan whereby there would be sufficient gap between them. However, each had their own reasons on why the current release plan was best suited and that by moving ahead to another date, there would be losses incurred. While the situation is not conducive for him as an actor, Pruthvi says that he respects the logic of the film teams and is going ahead with the release plans.

Once he is done with the promotions of both Matsyagandha and For Regn, Pruthvi will look at completing his film with Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, which also stars Nirup Bhandari and Shanvi Srivastava.
