Prosenjit Chatterjee and Ranjit Mallick reunite in Anup Sengupta’s Mama Bhagne 2

Bonny Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee will be there in the film.

Mama Bhagne was a superhit film of 2009 that was directed by Anup Sengupta. The veteran director is coming back after four years with the sequel of that superhit film.

Producer and IMPA president Piya Sengupta told this to Aajkaal Dot In. Her first produced film is Ahalya, directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee and starring Bonny Sengupta, Priyanka Sarkar, and Paayel Sarkar. Piya said, “My last film’s shooting is finished. It is set to be released in September. This is our second production. Prosenjit Chatterjee will work with us after 15 long years with the film Mama Bhagne 2. We are returning to the rom-com genre.”

Ranjit Mallik was also there in the first film. Will he appear in the sequel? Piya smilingly answered, “We had a long discussion with him. Ranjitda is elated. He will be in the sequel.” The story has a hero and two heroines. Bonny Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee will be there in the film. The second heroine's name is not revealed by the producer. She laughingly said that everything will be known in time.

Prosenjit has been showing interest for a long time to work in purely commercial films along with parallel ones. He was in Mumbai recently and got back to the city. There are rumors that he is shooting for a Mani Ratnam film. If everything goes fine, the shooting of Mama Bhagne 2 may start in July or August. Anup's last directed film was Janbaaj, starring Bonny and Koushani.
