Prabhas headlines the film produced by Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies
What constitutes the DNA of a pan-Indian film? A cast featuring actors across various industries, a universally appealing script, a huge budget or a mix of all three factors? While you decode it for yourself, the makers of Prabhas’ upcoming film are leaving no stone unturned to tell a pathbreaking sci-fi tale with the biggest stars in the country.
The already star-studded lineup of Project K just got bigger today with Indian 2 star Kamal Haasan joining the shoot. He's reportedly cast as an antagonist in the same. Apart from Prabhas and Kamal, the film’s core cast comprises Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Amitabh Bachchan and Malvika Nair. Nag Ashwin, the man behind Yevade Subrahmanyam and Mahanati, is directing the film produced by Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies.
Expressing his happiness about joining the team of Project K, Kamal Haasan remembered that his career as a dance assistant and Aswani Dutt’s career as a producer began at the same time, 50 years ago. He spoke of his excitement about being directed by a next-gen filmmaker and associating with stars like Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
Recalling that he’d worked with Amitabh Bachchan before, Kamal stated he would want to emulate the legend’s approach of reinventing himself with every project. He called himself a film buff first and said that he would always be the first person laud anything innovative in the industry. The Vikram actor is confident that Nag Ashwin’s tale will resonate with audiences across the globe.
Aswani Dutt shared that the prospect of associating with Kamal Haasan is indeed a dream come true-moment in his career. “It’s a great moment for any producer to be working with two legendary actors together - Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan. I feel blessed.” Nag Ashwin promised to unveil a new dimension to the star and said he felt both excited and privileged. Santosh Narayanan scores the music for the film. Kamal's last Telugu release was Cheekati Rajyam in 2015.
