Vyjayanthi Movies and Nag Ashwin have come together for one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Now, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, the film has finally gone on floors in Hyderabad. Tentatively titled Project K the film has gone on floors and Prabhas has given the first clap on the commencement.
Moreover, Big B has arrived in Hyderabad to kickstart the shoot of the film. The set of the film has been created at Ramoji Film City and it is touted to be one of the most expensive Indian projects to date.
While sharing the photo, Prabhas wrote on his Instagram page, "On this #GuruPurnima, it is an honour for me to Clap for the Guru of Indian cinema!… it now begins!! #ProjectK @amitabhbachchan @deepikapadukone @nag_ashwin @vyjayanthimovies."
On Friday, Bachchan had hinted about the film's shoot by tweeting, "T 3975 - .. travelled .. and the mahurat of the first day tomorrow .. a new film a new beginning, a new environment... 'NEW' never fades... it grows exponentially."
The expensive film is of the sci-fi genre and marks the 21st film of Prabhas. With this project, Vyjayanthi Movies enters its 50th year in the film industry. Reportedly, the budget of the film is over Rs 500 crore and is set against the backdrop of a fictional World War 3 setup.
Amid kickstarting Project K, Prabhas is also shooting for Om Raut's Adipurush wherein he plays the titular role. The actor also plays the leading role in Prashanth Neel's forthcoming directorial Salaar.
