The audio launch for Thalappathy Vijay's Leo was called off citing security reasons and the decision has received mixed reactions.

It would be an understatement to say that Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead, is one of the most-awaited movies of 2023. And the same could be said about the movie's audio launch event. The fans were more than thrilled with the expectation of seeing a star-studded event to release the audio, in the presence of all the main cast and crew, including Trisha and Sanjay Dutt, and a rousing speech by Vijay.
Fans were left heart-broken
All their expectations went kaput when the producers, Seven Screen Studio, decided to pull the plug on the event. The announcement led to a massive outrage on social media, with everyone seemingly looking for someone to blame for this situation. However, not everyone is upset with the latest development.

Some have praised the "courage" of the filmmakers to cancel the audio release event, even though it's such a critical part of a movie's promotional campaign. It's also an important event for fans and media because it would probably be the only time we will get to hear Vijay's thoughts about the movie. But, the producers still decided to do away with the event in order to avoid unpleasant circumstances that could challenge the smooth release of the movie next month.
A good and timely decision
"Considering the huge demand for passes to attend this most expected audio launch & with just 6,000 people the venue can accommodate, the event might have led to stampede & untoward incidents and bad name to the Team. A sensible decision by @7screenstudio Lalit sir & @Jagadishbliss," producer G Dhananjeyan wrote on his X account.

"#Leo is already in huge hype & this doesn’t matter. Let’s watch #ThalapathiVijay in theatres from October 19th onwards," he added.
According to reports, there was a risk of close to one lakh people showing up for the event at the venue, which can only house a crowd of less than 8,000 members. Such overcrowding might have resulted in serious troubles for both the public and the producers.
