Tollywood fans are excited with the news of Priyanka Mohan's rumoured role in Pawan Kalyan's next film, OG. The film is directed by Sujeeth, who gained fame with the 2019 action thriller Saaho, and produced by DVV Danayya, who bankrolled Oscar-winning film RRR.
OG, which is short for 'original gangster', is set to be a gangster movie with the backdrop of Mumbai.
While the remaining cast and crew have not been revealed yet, the production of the movie is expected to begin soon in Mumbai. Pawan Kalyan is currently filming for Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is directed by Harish Shankar. With only two weeks of filming remaining, Pawan will soon join the sets of OG.
Sujeeth's previous directorial venture, Saaho, was a high-budget action thriller starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Despite its grand production value, the movie received mixed reviews from critics, with many praising its action sequences but criticising the weak storyline.
At the box office, Saaho grossed over Rs 400 crores worldwide. However, the film's massive budget of Rs 350 crores meant that it had to perform exceptionally well at the box office to be considered a commercial success. Nonetheless, Saaho proved to be a stepping stone for Sujeeth's career, and his upcoming project OG is eagerly awaited by fans of Pawan Kalyan.
Besides Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Pawan is also shooting for the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Vinodhaya Sitham. Earlier, he revealed the whopping salary he was paid for this movie . "I am telling you without fear that I am shooting for this movie. And my pay is Rs 2 crore per day. Approximately, I earn Rs 45 crore if I work for 20 days. I'm not saying that I earn so much for every movie but that's my average pay. That's the status you have given me," he had said.
