Over the years, Priyanka Chopra has delivered multiple mindblowing performances on the big screens. With 2024 coming to an end, the actress is now set to complete 25 years as a celebrity as she started her journey in 2000 with the Miss India contest. Recently, PeeCee talked about her journey and how she overcame her struggles in the industry.
In a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, Priyanka Chopra talked about the struggles she overcame while trying to make her name in the Hollywood industry admitting that it was not easy. She said that she went to school in the United States and hence was not completely alien to working there. Talking about the industry and the work culture, the actress mentioned how the process of filmmaking is the same everywhere.
“It’s the cultural differences which make them different industries, else the cameras, the shots, everything is the same. I can’t be rigid in India, expecting it to be Hollywood-like in Bollywood, or vice versa. Be like water, and not rigid. I have always been like that my whole life... keep quiet, listen and find your place. I was thrown into it to figure it out,” shares Priyanka.
For the uninitiated, after making it big in the Bollywood industry, Priyanka Chopra starred in the American network drama series Quantico. She also became the first South Asian actor to star in an American drama. Talking about the challenges she faced while making it big in Hollywood, Chopra said, “I have been a public person more than half my life, for 25 years now. I am extremely private. So, the hard part is really to be able to manage expectations or public pressures.” She further added, "I have changed a lot. Being a professional, being able to deal with failure and change... that’s the hardest part."
