Paani is Priyanka Chopra's second Marathi film after Ventilator
Priyanka Chopra Jonas has announced her next Marathi movie in production, Paani. She did so by unveiling the teaser of the movie. For the film, Priyanka's Purple Pebble Pictures has joined hands with Rajshri Entertainment. Watch the teaser here...
Paani teaser sees a man digging in order to find a source of water. While he continues doing so, the area that he digs makes up for the letter p in paani. The teaser is also a title announcement, and the word paani is painted in the sky, with the sun rising and birds flying around clouds.
Priyanka spoke about the project with Mid-Day and stated that the film would be quite relevant to the current times. The actress-producer mentioned that the movie is about a man's journey to find solutions that would change the lives of people around him.
While making the announcement, Priyanka revealed that the film will be a theatrical release and will be out on October 18. “This is very very special. Our Marathi feature film ‘Paani’ is all set to release theatrically on 18th October. See you in the theatres!,” she shared while posting the teaser on Instagram.
It is to be noted that this is Priyanka's second Marathi movie after Ventilator (2016). The actress has produced the Punjabi film Sarvann (2017) and two Hindi movies starring her, The Sky Is Pink (2019) and The White Tiger (2021).
Paani is helmed by Addinath M. Kothare and will be released in theatres on October 18. Penned by Nitin Dixit, it stars Addinath M. Kothare in the lead role, with Rucha Vaidya, Subodh Bhave, Rajit Kapur, Kishor Kadam, Nitin Dixit, Sachin Goswami, Mohanabai, Shripad Joshi, and Vikas Pandurang Patil in pivotal characters. Although Paani is confirmed for a theatrical release, there is still no confirmation on when, where or whether it will be out on OTT as well. A little clarity on that is expected post the film’s release in theatres on October 18 this year.
