Last week, the makers of Maidaan unveiled the trailer at the big event in Mumbai. Ahead of the film's theatrical release, actress Priyamani has shared some insight into her character in Maidaan. She will be seen essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim's (played by Ajay) wife, Saira.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Priyamani shared some details about her character, Saira, in Amit Sharma's Maidaan. The actress said, "Saira is his (Syed's) emotional support and pillar of strength. She holds the fort when Rahim saab is not at home or busy with his meetings and matches."
She added that Syed and Saira share a cute relationship in the film. The actress has collaborated with Ajay Devgn for the first time on a movie. In the same conversation, Priyamani spoke about the previous release, Article 370. The actress expressed gratitude to producer Aditya Dhar and filmmaker Aditya Suhas Jambhale for building her character well. She was seen as a senior officer in the PM's office, Rajeshwari Swaminathan
"My role didn’t need so much importance, but they invested a lot of time in it. What also resonated with me is that while the storm is happening on the field, Rajeshwari is calm and strong," she said.
