Maidaan will see Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 till his death in 1963.

Priyamani, who was last seen in The Family Man 2 is awaiting the release of the Hindi language sports film Maidaan with Ajay Devgn as the protagonist.
In a recent interview with India Today the actress opened up about her character and her experience of working with Devgn.
Maidaan will see Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, who was the coach and manager of the Indian football team from 1950 till his death in 1963.
Priyamani will play his on-screen wife, whom she described as a "pillar of strength." She also said that her character is the "driving force, supporter, and motivator" who guides Rahim in the right direction.
The actress also lauded Devgn's acting skills and described him as a "fabulous and fine actor".
"Honestly, I shot with Ajay sir for 10 days or 12 days max. I had a lot of fun working with him as I got to learn a lot. He is such a fine and fabulous actor. He speaks so much with his eyes and he has got those intense eyes. He does not need to say anything but he would say everything, it's like that. I had a good time working with him," she told India Today.
Besides Maidaan Priyamani and Devgn will also be seen in SS Rajamouli's historical epic drama RRR. The Telugu-language film starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan is slated to hit cinemas on April 28.
Among her other projects are a new season of The Family Man with Manoj Bajpayee, and Telugu films Bhamakalapam (soon to be out on aha) and Virata Parvam.
Maidaan is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma of Badhaai Ho! fame from a screenplay by Saiwyn Quadras and dialogues penned by Ritesh Shah.
The cast also includes Gajraj Rao and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios are the producers.
Maidaan releases on June 3.
