Prithviraj’s Cold Case: Earan Mukil gives a peek into the lives of Medha and Sathyajith

While the trailer of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Cold Case revealed a few intense glimpses from the upcoming Amazon Prime Video release, the first song Earan Mukil from the movie gives a peek into the lives of its lead characters.

Prithviraj plays ACP Sathyajith in the movie while Aruvi fame Aditi Balan essays an investigative reporter and a mother in the movie, directed by debutant Tanu Balak.

The soulful track is rendered by Harishankar KS and composed by Prakash Alex. In the video, the audience also gets to see the character of Anil Nedumangad, who had passed away last year. Cold Case was one of his final films.

The movie also has Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Suchitra Pillai and Athmeeya Rajan and Anil Nedumangad in pivotal roles. Cold Case also marks Prithviraj's first direct-to-OTT release.

Talking to us about the movie, Prithviraj said, “Where I thought the script of Cold Case stands out from the usual read is that it is basically the same story travelling in two different paths. One is of a police officer investigating a case that had gone cold and suddenly gets a lead again. Obviously, being a police investigation, that track progresses purely based on logic, inferences and leads. The other track is again a probe, but this time by an investigative journalist and in this path, you start encountering things that cannot be explained by logic, that are paranormal. What is interesting is that one path doesn’t negate the other; the inferences from one track doesn’t prove the other wrong. Eventually, when both these tracks intertwine, the protagonists cannot say who is wrong and who is right. As someone seeing the film, you would feel, both of them are right. That way it’s intelligently designed and written.

Cold Case will release on Amazon Prime Video on June 30.
