The trailer of Akshay's Kumar historic film, Prithviraj was dropped a few hours ago and it is already going viral on the internet. And Akshay is thrilled and overwhelmed to see such an amazing positive response to his upcoming historic drama.
The Yash Raj Films’ first historical drama, Prithviraj is based on the life and valour of the fearless and mighty King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay will be essaying the role of the legendary warrior who fought valiantly to protect India from the invasion of Muhammad of Ghor. Akshay feels humbled that people have connected to the film, which pays a tribute to the brave warrior.
In a statement, Akshay said that he is thrilled with the response to the trailer of his film. "We wanted to give a glorious and the most authentic tribute to the incredibly valiant Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and I’m so happy that the trailer has resonated with the audience," he said adding that it is amazing to see people wanting to know more about the king and he feels humbled to have been able to make people across the world curious to know more about him.
Speaking about playing the Samrat, the Khiladi actor said that it was an 'honour' to be a part of the film and play a man who stood for his country without worrying about the consequences. He said, "I share this moment of joy with my director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, my producer Aditya Chopra, my co-star Manushi Chhillar, who is debuting in the film, and the brilliant Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood and all the actors and technicians who have believed in the mission to make Prithviraj an important film for this generation."
At the trailer launch event, Akshay had remembered his late mother and said how she would be proud of him for being part of the film. He said in his career spanning almost 30 years, this is the first time, he is doing a historical drama. While speaking about the film, the actor got emotional.
The film Prithviraj is directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is best known for directing the television epic Chanakya and the critically acclaimed film Pinjar. The ethereally gorgeous Manushi Chhillar plays the role of King Prithviraj’s beloved Sanyogita and her launch is definitely one of the most awaited debuts of 2022.
The film is set to release on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
