Within days, Prithviraj is gearing up to bring the story of one of the most well known Indian rulers on to the big screen. The film unveiled its latest trailer today. Titled Hindustan Ka Sher, the trailer proves true to its name, as viewers are offered a glimpse into the glorious courage of the lion-hearted king in battle.

The trailer seems to be a battle cry from start to finish, as war takes front and centre stage throughout the clip. Massively mounted battle sequences show the king displaying his prowess on the field. The trailer also features glimpses of the valour that the king’s consort Sanyogita, and his right hand man Chand Varai showcase as well. The grandeur of the visuals hint at a visually stunning fare indeed.

The upcoming historical film stars Akshay Kumar as the titular king, with Manushi Chhillar making her Bollywood debut in the role of Sanyogita. Sonu Sood stars as Chand Varai, while Sanjay Dutt essays the role of Kaka Kanha, the king’s uncle. Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar also feature in pivotal roles in the film.

The film is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film is based on the Braj language epic poem, Prithviraj Raso. In a conversation with Firstpost, Kumar had talked about how the director had meticulously studied the text for almost 18 years for the film.

Prithviraj will be released in theatres on June 3, 2022, in the languages of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
