The Kaduva actor, who is part of Shaji Kailas’ Kaapa, will apparently begin work on Prashanth Neel’s film next
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who had confirmed that he was approached by KGF director Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films, had said that the major challenge for him and the makers was adjusting his dates so he could shoot the film. It now seems that the team has worked out a plan for the Malayalam star to be part of the KGF director’s actioner starring Prabhas and Shruti Haasan.
As per reports, Prithviraj will begin shooting for the big budget film this month, as soon as he wraps up work on Kaapa, which has him playing the role of a Thiruvananthapuram-based gangster named Kotta Madhu. The actor has been shooting for the film, which also has Asif Ali, Anna Ben and Aparna Balamurali, since he returned from the shoot of Aadujeevitham and subsequent promotions of his latest release Kaduva.
In May, during the Twitter Spaces session promoting the Netflix release of his film Jana Gana Mana, Prithviraj had told fans that he had been approached by the makers of Salaar a few years ago. “It’s a hugely exciting film. I know what Salaar is about and that’s part of the reason I am also excited about it,” he said.
However, he said that it’s a “big commitment” because the movie is planned as a huge project. Many had speculated that Salaar could eventually merge with the KGF universe that Prashanth has already created. During the time, Prithviraj was set to shoot his portions in October this year with him scheduled to begin work on Jayan Nambiar’s Vilayath Buddha, which is based on GR Indugopan’s novel. This seems to have changed, with the actor now reportedly allotting his dates in August.
We are yet to receive an official confirmation on if the actor will be working with Prabhas in this schedule. Meanwhile, the actor’s Kaduva, which has earned more than Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office, is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on August 4.
