Prithviraj Sukumaran surprised the audience with his drastic transformation for Aadujeevitham. Sunil KS, the DOP of the project, has now made some shocking revelations about his weight loss.
Aadujeevitham, the survival drama that stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role has already emerged as one of the most loved films of recent times. The talented actor surprised the audiences with his drastic physical transformation for the Blessy directorial; especially, one of the crucial scenes in the film showcased the extent of Prithviraj’s weight loss. In a recent interview, Sunil KS, the cinematographer of Aadujeevitham, made some shocking revelations about the actor’s transformation, and how he shot for this particular scene.
In his recent interview with the Cue Studio, DOP Sunil KS revealed that Prithviraj Sukumaran was not even able to get up from his chair while shooting for the scene that reveals the extent of his physical transformation. The talented actor went on a 3-day-long fast for this particular scene. Prithviraj, who used to consume just water in the first two days, even stopped that on the third day. On the night before the shoot, he also consumed 30 ml of Vodka, to make his body completely dehydrated.
On the day of the shoot, the actor was brought into the set by the crew members, as he was unable to stand up or walk on his own. Even in such a physical state, Prithviraj Sukumaran succeeded in finishing the scene in a single take. However, the actor collapsed immediately after shooting his body-revealing scene, due to extreme fatigue and dehydration. Director Blessy and his team trained some of their crew members to perform the scene instead of Prithviraj if the actor is unable to do it himself. However, the leading man performed the scene himself, before collapsing on the sets.
The actor initially gained some extra kilos, and weighed around 98 kg during the first Kerala schedule of Aadujeevitham, which featured the happy phase of his character Najeeb Muhammed’s life. Later, Prithviraj Sukumaran shed around 31 kilos to portray the drastic transformation of Najeeb, who was stranded in a Saudi Arabian desert and was forced into slavery. The talented actor is now receiving immense love from the audiences for his extraordinary performance in the Blessy directorial.
