The emotional thriller, which will go on floors in early 2023, is helmed by Kayoze Irani
Bollywood filmmaker-producer Karan Johar and Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran are set to team up for the second time in two years for a movie featuring Kajol. The film, helmed by Kayoze Irani, is touted to be an emotional thriller and will mark the debut of Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim.
The film will be Prithviraj’s fourth Bollywood venture after Aiyya, Aurangzeb and Naam Shabana, and his first collaboration with Kajol. Karan’s Dharma Productions, which will be bankrolling the movie, had previously teamed up with Prithviraj’s production company Prithviraj Productions to back the Bollywood remake of Driving Licence titled Selfiee. The latter film, which will hit theatres next year, has Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi as the lead actors.
Prithviraj had recently shared a snap from Mumbai, confirming that he was in talks for a Bollywood movie. There were reports that the actor was actually working on the pilot episode of his Netflix web series, which is based on the Biscuit Baron Rajan Pillai. But it turns out that the Kaduva star had discussions with the upcoming movie’s director Kayoze as well as Ibrahim and Kajol as part of “ice-breaking sessions” ahead of the film’s shoot in January 2023.
The movie is reported to be revolving around three characters essayed by the lead actors, who will also be part of extensive script-reading sessions and acting workshops in December, as per a report by Pinkvilla.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj’s next big release is Alphonse Puthren’s Gold, which has him teaming up with Nayanthara. The movie, which is also co-produced by the actor, will hit theatres on December 1. Prithviraj will also have another release later in December, with Shaji Kailas’ gangster thriller Kaapa. He will also be completing his portions of Vilayath Buddha next month, before he starts work on the Bollywood film and his directorial Empuraan, which has Mohanlal in the lead.
