Prithviraj Sukumaran has finally started shooting for his upcoming comedy entertainer, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. The makers confirmed the new update by sharing a location video recently.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently busy as both an actor and a filmmaker, with promising projects in the pipeline. The multi-faceted talent recently wrapped up the first schedule shooting of his third directorial venture, L2 Empuraan. Now, Prithviraj is back to his acting schedule and has finally joined the set of the upcoming comedy entertainer, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil.

Recently, the makers of Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil took to their official social media handles and dropped a location video, confirming that Prithviraj has started shooting for the project. “Welcoming @therealprithvi to the sets of Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil!” reads the Instagram post shared by the actor’s wife and producer of the project, Supriya Menon.
In the video, the popular star can be seen arriving at the location of the highly anticipated project in a casual outfit. The team members, including director Vipin Das, Supriya Menon, and others, gave him a warm welcome, after which the actor changed into the look of his character in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil.
Prithviraj is seen in the get-up of a small-town Malayali man, in a casual rust-coloured T-shirt and a dark blue lungi. Later, he joined the rest of the star cast, including actress Nikhila Vimal, for the first day of the shoot.
Prithviraj’s role in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil
Basil Joseph is the protagonist in the Vipin Das directorial, which is touted to be an out-and-out comedy film. Prithviraj plays a negative role in Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. The reports on Prithviraj’s character in the film have cine-goers excited, as the actor’s performances in negative roles in the past were well-received by the audience.

Along with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph, the much-awaited project stars a stellar star cast that includes popular Tamil actor Yogi Babu, Jagadish, Nikhila Vimal, Anaswara Rajan, Rekha Harris, and others in supporting roles. Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, which is jointly bankrolled by Prithviraj Productions and E4 Entertainment, is expected to hit theatres in the first half of 2024.
