Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team of Prithviraj Productions has seemingly left no stone unturned to ensure that the Malayalam version of Yash and Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2 is on par with its original.

Talking about the much-anticipated Kannada film, which will be distributed in Kerala by the actor, Prithviraj said it was a “big film” that deserved the work that was put into it. The Malayalam version of the movie had over 80 artistes working on it with actor and filmmaker Shankar Ramakrishnan supervising the work.

The actor, in a press meet held in Kochi ahead of his next release Jana Gana Mana, also explained that it’s “important for a movie like KGF: Chapter 2 to succeed not just for Kannada cinema but for all industries”. Only such films succeed and it becomes clear that these movies are profitable, more such movies will be produced, said the actor.

Prithviraj also revealed that he had seen a few portions of KGF: Chapter 2. “The reason it was made on such a big scale was because of the success of KGF. So, only if KGF: Chapter 2 succeeds, more such movies will be made,” he said.

Hombale Films, which backed the KGF franchise, had also approached Prithviraj to helm a movie after he had released Lucifer in 2019, he divulged. “When we discussed KGF: Chapter 2’s Kerala release, it was me who said that we have to do it properly this time with the best dubbing. That’s how I assigned Shankar to supervise the dubbing and he had spent months in Bengaluru working with its director Prashant Neel and writers,” he said, adding that it was done to ensure the best possible experience to the Malayalam audience.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj is set to join hands with KGF director Prashanth and Hombale Films for Prabhas’ upcoming movie Salaar.
