The Pretty Little Liars spin-off returns for Season 2, continuing the Original Sin storyline with summer school shenanigans.
The long wait is almost over, which is great news for Pretty Little Liars lovers. The new announcement confirms that Pretty Little Liars: Summer School will premiere on Thursday, May 9. The first season, Original Sin will stream on JioCinema in India. The first two episodes will premiere at the season premiere, and subsequent episodes will air weekly. The season finale will air on June 20.
After everything that happened in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin the characters are now facing an even more terrible fate: summer school. Millwood High isn't the only roadblock to their exciting summer employment and new romantic interests. A new adversary, whose ties to A are unclear at best, has arrived in town and intends to put them all to the test.
The first season concluded two years ago, and now this news arrives. Original Sin is a solid continuation of the Freeform series that takes place in a different town in Pennsylvania, far from Rosewood, and features a much darker and more ominous style. There may be more gore and violence in this new series than in its predecessor, but it seems to be taking a more grounded approach. In the first season, we saw that a string of unfortunate occurrences nearly tore Millwood apart twenty years ago. An unknown assailant is currently tormenting this latest batch of Little Liars.

Given the events of the previous season, it makes sense that the Liars would endure hardships during summer school. Due to Imogen's (Bailee Madison's) pregnancy and the ongoing kidnapping by an unknown killer, they are probably going to miss a few classes. There appears to be a subtle allusion to other similar TV shows here. Both Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries feature teenage protagonists who hardly show up to class. The big question is, will they really be in class in Season 2?
They might just be swamped, as following seven seasons of the same evil chasing the Rosewood girls, the spin-off will introduce a new antagonist. New photos suggest that Season 2 will introduce a new villain after the Liars' revelation of Archie as villain A. This year, a mysterious presence—Bloody Rose—will plague the girls of Millwood.
This antagonist reportedly has ties to A, but it's nice to see a change of pace. Riverdale creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was excited to include a female antagonist in the upcoming second season. The first season focused mostly on the real and metaphorical dominance of men over women.
Season 2 of Pretty Little Liars spin-off will debut on JioCinema on May 9, but viewers may watch the first season on the OTT platform right now.
