Premalu Telugu OTT partner revealed - This platform bags the streaming rights of the Mamitha Baiju-starrer

Premalu was a smash hit in Malayalam. Seeing the buzz for the Malayalam version in Hyderabad, SS Rajamouli's son, Karthikeya, bought the dubbing rights in Telugu and released Premalu on March 8, 2024. We at OTTplay have already reported that Disney + Hotstar has bagged the digital rights to the Malayalam and Tamil versions and will stream the film from April 12, 2024.

Now, we have learned that Aha has bagged the OTT rights of the Telugu version. Hotstar was almost confirmed as the OTT partner for Telugu as well, but producer Allu Aravind entered the scene and paid big bucks to bag the Telugu OTT rights of Premalu.

Aha has been grabbing the OTT rights of big hits these days and we have come to know that after Ambajipeta Marriage Band, the platform spent big money to bag the rights of Premalu. We have also come to know that Aha is also planning to release the Telugu version more or less on the same date(April 12, 2024) as the Malayalam and Tamil versions. However, an official confirmation is yet to be made in this regard.
On the other hand, the romantic comedy made close to Rs 15 crore and ended as a blockbuster hit in Telugu. SS Karthikeya made a solid profit with Premalu as he released the film independently in several areas of Telugu states.
The female lead, Mamitha Baiju, has become a sensation of sorts in Telugu cinema and is in talks for films with popular banners already. Premalu was released on March 15, 2024, in Tamil Nadu and has also become a good hit there. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
