Premalu Hindi OTT release date: When, where to watch the blockbuster romcom directed by Girish AD

Premalu, which has Mamitha Baiju and Naslen in the lead, gets an OTT release date for its Hindi version. Here’s when and where to watch the film

Malayalam blockbuster Premalu, which has Mamitha Baiju and Naslen in the lead, has already gone on to win hearts and set records at the box office in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states. The film, which had its Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions released last month, is now finally gearing up to stream on OTT and much to the cheer of many – it will also release in Hindi.

Premalu, which is directed by Thaneer Mathan Dinangal fame Girish AD, will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar that will release its Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi versions. The OTT rights for the Telugu version of Premalu was bagged by aha Telugu. All versions of the film will begin streaming on April 12 – as part of the festive release of the OTT platforms.

Reasons to watch Premalu on OTT

The Malayalam romcom hit theatres in February without much buzz, but soon became one of the biggest hits in the industry – which also saw movies such as Bramayugam and Manjummel Boys release the same month.

A major reason the movie connected with the youth audience in Kerala was its humour and the protagonists – an indolent youngster named Sachin, essayed by Naslen, and a focused technie named Reenu, played by Mamitha, who was last seen in Pranayavilasam and Ramachandra Boss and Co. The movie revolves around Sachin, whose efforts to go to the UK fail and decides to tag along with his buddy for GATE coaching in Hyderabad. During one of their trips, Sachin meets Reenu and her gang and falls head over heels for her. However, the latter doesn’t think he’s her type. Will romance bloom between the unlikeliest of pairs form the plot of the movie.

Apart from the duo, the film also has a slew of actors including Sangeeth Prathap, Akhila Bhargavan and cameos by Mathew Thomas of Leo fame and Kumbalangi Nights and Mayaanadhi writer Shyam Pushkaran.

Where to stream Premalu on OTT

Premalu will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi, while the Telugu version will be available on aha from April 12. You can also stream the Telugu version on OTTplay Premium.
