In Prema Vimanam, Saanve is cast as Abitha, a village belle and the daughter of a village head who falls for a small-time shop owner’s son, Mani. The duo faces several obstacles in their relationship, and fearing retaliation from their parents, they decide to elope in the hope of a better tomorrow. In a chat with OTTplay.com, she discusses the intent behind the love track in the film.

Sharing how Abitha’s journey mirrors the thoughts of youngsters today, the actress said that being in love is a beautiful feeling. “It’s so beautiful that it gives you the strength to rise above societal pressure. However, there are many dimensions to it. You tend to become conscious of society and the parent’s opinions, and they begin to matter more than choosing your partner.”

“I believe all of us fall in love, and the next significant step is gaining acceptance from your parents. That's the most challenging task. We come across incidents about couples eloping, breaking ties with their parents, and living together somewhere else. Sometimes, they elope without the knowledge of their parents, and a few wait for the consent of their parents; some take their lives too,” she added.

Through a story like Prema Vimanam, she hopes to see a society sans discrimination, where everyone is free to choose their partner regardless of barriers. She wants parents to be more understanding of their children’s choices and recognise their right to choose.

Sangeeth Shobhan, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Devansh Nama, Anirudh Nama, and Ravi Varma also star in Prema Vimanam, the Santosh Kata directorial that was released on October 12 on ZEE5.
