Dhruva Sarja's film with Prem is based on true events

Director-actor Prem had announced a collaboration with Kannada cinema’s Action Prince, Dhruva Sarja, way back in August last year. At the time, Prem, was still busy with his film Ek Love Ya, while Dhruva was set to begin work on his film with AP Arjun, Martin. Dhruva, we hear, is almost done with Martin, and post-production should begin soon, given that the film has locked September 30 as its release date. Amid this comes news that the actor is wasting no time and proceeding to start his next.

Earlier today, Prem announced that the muhurtha of his next directorial, which is being called #DS6, given that it is Dhruva’s sixth film, will be held on April 24 at the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru. The as-yet-untitled film is believed to be a pan-Indian mass action entertainer that will be bankrolled by KVN Productions.

The announcement had fans divided, with some saying they are excited about the prospects of a Prem-Dhruva combination, considering that the filmmaker is known to make emotional love stories, while the actor is a bonafide action star. Others were not too thrilled and wondered why everyone’s suddenly looking at making period films. #DS6, as per the poster, will be set in 1970 and appears to be a period war flick.

The film will be Prem’s 9th directorial and the fourth project for production house KVN Productions, who bankrolled Ganesh’s Sakath and have movies with Nikhil Kumar and Dhanveerrah as well. It was earlier reported that the storyline would be loosely based on the Mahabharatha and titled Anjaneya, but the fine print on the muhurtha announcement says that the film is based on real events. The film will have music by Arjun Janya.
