The makers of the much-awaited musical drama Raavan Leela starring Pratik Gandhi and Aindrita Ray have decided to play it safe. After several comments and feedback from the public stating that the title of the film has hurt their sentiments, they have now announced a change in the title. The statement issued by the makers announced that the film is now titled Bhavai.
In a post shared on Twitter, Pen India Ltd wrote, “Every film, for us, is a story to connect with our audience, keep them entertained & not hurt any sentiments. Keeping this in mind, we are changing the title to #Bhavai, the story of the art & the artist!”
The trailer for the film got a massive reception and garnered over 10 million views. While the movie became a highly anticipated one, audiences were also vocal about the title of the film and claimed that it hurts their sentiments. The title change was following this request from the audience.
Director Hardik Gajjar said, in a statement, that he is happy to honour the wishes of the stakeholders and audience and that cinema and his film are meant to entertain people. He also said that people have showered love for Pratik and he hopes the film will help multiply this love.
Pratik Gandhi, a popular name in Gujarati theatre and cinema, became a popular figure following the release of the television series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story on SonyLIV. Pratik essayed the role of Harshad Mehta which helped him rise to fame. Bhavai which also stars Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, and Abhimanyu Singh in important roles, is set to release in theatres on October 1.
