Pratidwandi to stream on Hoichoi: Reasons to watch it immediately

An exciting thriller, lots of drama, an intense rivalry and the dilemma between morality and corruption – director Saptaswa Basu promises an amalgamation of all these elements in Pratidwandi. Starting with the abduction of a child, the plot goes on to reveal a number of interconnected crimes, with masks being taken off and hidden players trying to checkmate each other.

Having a stellar cast in place, the movie promises to hit all the required checkboxes for being a gripping watch. With Saswata Chatterjee as Dr Bakshi and Rudranil Ghosh as mathematics teacher Sukumar Sen, the dynamics between these powerhouses will surely be a treat to the viewers.

Rini Ghosh and Sourav Das have been roped in to play detectives, while Saayoni Ghosh takes up the role of a politician in the film. These young artistes have delivered some of the finest performances in the industry recently.

The trailer begins with the kidnapping of Dr Bakshi’s son, with Sukumar being the prime suspect. A crisis management agency is called upon to mitigate the situation, but it is soon revealed that this abduction may be related to some other crimes around the city, pulling in some big names into the mess.

We also see Sayoni’s politician character trying to hide certain secrets from the media, which may be related to the overall plot. All-in-all, without divulging much information, the trailer manages to grab the attention of the audience and pushes a question into our minds – who is actually the hero and who is the villain.

The script has been developed by writer Aryan Bhowmik and his team, with the tone of the trailer along with the other scenes indicating a dark conflict between the characters. A fast-paced thriller with ample twists and turns to keep you at the edge of your seats, Pratidwandi will release on Hoichoi on July 2.
