No other Tamil film had garnered the attention Valimai received on social media in the recent times. Before the makers unveiled the Ajith-starrer's first look stills and a single, fans of the star used to take to social media and regularly ask the makers about the pending announcements on the movie with the hashtag #ValimaiUpdate, the popularity of which transcended boundaries. Directed by Vinoth, the action movie will hit the screens on Pongal 2022.

Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda, Yogi Babu and Achyuth Kumar among others play pivotal roles in the movie which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. What many do not know is that Prasanna was supposed to play a key role in the film, but he couldn't be a part of the project due to some unknown reasons. The actor had taken to Twitter to reveal that he is hopeful of joining hands with Ajith soon.

He tweeted, "Extremely delighted to know that my dear #Thala trusted in me. Though it was disappointing when #Valimai opportunity slipped away, I am confident great things are yet to come." Fans have started speculating that since Prasanna has expressed confidence on sharing screen presence with their matinee idol, it is likely that Ajith's next project, tentatively titled Thala 61 will have the former playing an important role. It is not known if Prasanna was supposed to play the antagonist in Valimai.

Thala 61 marks the third straight collaboration of Ajith, Boney Kapoor and Vinoth. The director had mentioned in a recent interview that the project, a quickie, will go on floors in sometime. Meanwhile, Prasanna, who was last seen in Netflix's Navarasa has Thupparivaalan 2 in his kitty. The project, which has Ilaiyaraaja composing music, marks the directorial debut of Vishal. The film is a sequel to Mysskin's successful thriller flick Thupparivaalan, which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
