Mamitha Baiju, Anaswara Rajan and Arjun Ashokan had shared screen space earlier in Super Sharanya
Even though the makers of Anaswara Rajan, Mamitha Baiju and Arjun Ashokan-starrer Pranaya Vilasam haven’t promoted the movie as is usually the case, the film has still managed to have the greatest buzz among this Friday’s releases that also include Bhavana and Sharafudheen’s Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnn, Nithya Das and Shwetha Menon’s Pallimani, Anu Sithara and Amith Chakalakkal’s Santosham and Anikha Surendran’s Oh My Darling. The reason being that the movie marks the reunion of the Super Sharanya trio.
However, Mamitha, in a recent interview with The Cue, stated that it was sheer coincidence that all three worked together in the film. “In case of Pranaya Vilasam, it was purely coincidental because Arjun chettan was cast first and then Anu (Anaswara). I had a few date issues and so was not part of the film initially. Then they shifted the dates and so I was in,” said the actress.
Incidentally, both Mamitha and Anaswara recently also worked together in an advertisement, which she says was a consequence of the popularity of their combination in Super Sharanya. Mamitha, who had also starred in Operation Java, revealed that the makers of ad film had approached them, saying that they wanted the duo to work together because their roles as Sharanya and Sona in the Gireesh AD directorial, which is currently streaming on ZEE5, have been well received by the audience.
Though Pranaya Vilasam is only their second film together, the actress also admitted that it was because of their roles in Super Sharanya that it’s being “celebrated”. The film is helmed by debutant Nikhil Muraly and scripted by Jyothish M and Sunu W. “Pranaya Vilasam tells the story of different kinds of love – about romance between people, in varied landscapes. It’s all about love,” Nikhil had earlier told OTTplay.
Pranaya Vilasam’s OTT rights have already been bagged by ZEE5, while ZEE Malayalam has clinched its satellite rights.
