Aashram 4: Prakash Jha finally shares an update on Bobby Deol's series - 'Someone else will direct it while I will...'

Filmmaker Prakash Jha has opened up about the future of Bobby Deol-led Aashram. The director shared an update about the fourth season of his web series.

Bobby Deol-starrer web series, Aashram, received a positive reception upon its OTT release in 2020. The show, directed by Prakash Jha, was lauded for its gripping narrative and star cast's fine performances. Three seasons later, the makers are yet to drop five episodes of the show. The upcoming five episodes are reportedly from Aashram 3 itself. In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Prakash shared an update about the fourth season of Aashram.

Although Prakash Jha doesn't know when the remaining five episodes will drop, he is aware that Amazon MX Player is keen to take the Aashram franchise forward.

"The five episodes that are set to be released will reveal that, aashram zinda hai. We are still talking about season four. A fresh story has been written for it, but I have told the team that while I will mentor it, somebody else must direct that. However, it all depends on the [decision taken by] the platform. We’re yet to see how things will pan out," the filmmaker told the tabloid.

A source further informed the tabloid that the five episodes are a part of the 15-episode series that was initially shot for Aashram 3. Those episodes are ready to be released and will probably stream this year. A formal announcement is likely to be made by the streaming platform.

What to expect from Aashram 3's upcoming episodes?

As per the source, the new bunch of five episodes will feature Bobby Deol's character Baba Nirala (Monty Singh) confronting his past demons. It will reportedly include glimpses of his 'past experiences that shaped his current status'. That said, there might be glimpses that will influence his character's future actions.

"It will also showcase Pammi’s [Aaditi Pohankar] agenda and where her desire for revenge leads her, as well as Sonia’s [Esha Gupta] true intentions. After Baba Nirala lands in jail at the end of season three, we will see that despite his imprisonment, he continues to manipulate people," the source added.
