Sandesh Nagaraj to produce pan-Indian film with Prabhu Deva

Over the weekend, producer Sandesh Nagaraj, known for backing films like Odeya, Airavata, Amar, among many others, announced his next. An as-yet-untitled project, the film will have choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva in the lead. The announcement was made along with an image of Sandesh with Prabhu Deva, in what appears to have been a discussion about a collaboration.

Prabhu Deva has roots in Mysuru and visits the Palace City often to meet his folks, while Sandesh is also from the city. At the moment, no other details are available about the project, except that Sandesh intends to make it on a grand scale as a pan-India movie.

Prabhu Deva, who has acted in Upendra’s H2O, as well as a couple of cameos in other films, is next expected to be seen in his brother S Nagendra Prasad’s directorial Lucky Man, which is the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Oh My Kadavule!, which has Darling Krishna, Sangeetha Sringeri and Roshni Prakash in the lead. The highlight of the fantasy drama film, of course, is the much-anticipated dance number featuring Prabhu Deva and the late Puneeth Rajkumar, which has been choreographed by Jani Master.

The choreographer-actor-director is also committed to a project to be directed by Yogaraj Bhat, in which he will be joined by Century Star Shivarajkumar. The film, a period action drama, was supposed to take off after Shivarajkumar completes work on A Harsha’s Vedha, and Yogaraj winds up Gaalipata 2. Shivarajkumar is currently shooting for Vedha, but there has been no update on the film with Yogaraj and Prabhu Deva. It remains to be seen whether it will be Yogaraj or Sandesh who brings the ace choreographer-actor back to Kannada cinema.

Prabhu Deva’s next release, meanwhile, is the Tamil film Theal, in which he is paired with Bengaluru girl, Samyuktha Hegde. He's also got Poikkal Kuthirai. He recently signed up to be a part of the Malayalam film Ayisha, which has Manju Warrier in the lead.
