This December is going to be merrier for Indian cinema, with two of the biggest films releasing during the Christmas season. Salaar, starring Prabhas, and Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor are set to hit the big screen in the coming weeks. Audiences are gearing up to storm theaters and enjoy the fun and thrilling rides these two mass entertainers will take them on.

Just a few weeks before the release, advance booking is open for overseas audiences. Although Animal is releasing much earlier than Salaar, the latter is ruling as far as box office sales go. Animal is set to release on November 30th in the USA, a day prior to its Indian release, while Salaar will hit theatres on December 21.

According to reports from Etimes, the difference in their advance bookings is about $100,000, with Salaar leading the race. With 29 days until its release, Salaar has managed to sell 7,005 tickets, earning $184,002 (Rs 1.5 crore) from 282 locations. In contrast, Animal, which is releasing in just 8 days, has raked in $84,432 (Rs 70 lakh) by selling 5,034 tickets.

As per earlier reports, Animal is set to have the most number of theatres in the USA market for an Indian film, with 888 screens. This number is higher than the screens given to several other big-budget films, including Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster releases Jawan and Pathaan, Rajinikanth’s Jailer, and even Ranbir’s Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, which was distributed by Disney.
