The Baahubali star promised his fans that he would appear in at least two films a year henceforth
Prabhas, once a shy, restrained actor during his promotional events of his earlier films, was at his eloquent best while addressing his fans at Tirupathi for the pre-release event of Adipurush on Tuesday. He considered himself lucky to have been a part of a retelling of the Ramayana. Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, Saif Ali Khan, Devdatta Nage play other important roles in the Om Raut directorial.
“I hope the response to the new trailer guarantees good openings. I’d asked Om Raut to showcase me in a 3D avatar to my fans with the teaser many months ago. Om wanted to release the trailer in the presence of fans. It’s with your encouragement that we’d fought many battles; we didn’t sleep for 8 months. People hardly slept for 2 hours and forgot their families to ensure a good product,” Prabhas said.
Adipurush is not just any other film, it’s a privilege to have played Lord Ram, he opined. “Chiranjeevi said I was blessed to have been a part of a film based on the Ramayana. For a film based on an epic, the journey was far from smooth. I have never met a director like Om Raut in my 20-year-long career. He and the producers have given their best to it in the recent 7 months.”
He extend his gratitude to Chinna Jeeyar Swami for gracing the event and making it more auspicious. “People Media Factory’s TG Vishwa Prasad, Vivek Kuchibhotla are like family to me. My producer Bhushan Kumar took this film very seriously. He releases 20-30 films a year but he hasn’t worked like this for any other film, going to office everyday,” he added.
Opening up about his co-stars, Prabhas shared, “Without Sunny Singh, my Laxman - brother, there could’ve been no Ramayan. When Kriti Sanon shed tears in the promos, audiences were in awe of her as Janaki. We took a lot of time to cast Sita. We wanted someone who’s a fine human first, has good name and there couldn’t have been anyone better than her for the role.”
“I felt Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, I never experienced something like that in my career. Dev said he wasn’t Hanuman but God is blessing us from the heavens for the film. There’s a new emotion to his performance in Adipurush. I thank the cinematographer, editor, director for their efforts. My fans are my strength. I am doing two films a year; there may be three too. I can’t talk more than this. I want to talk less on the stage and deliver more." Opening up on his marriage, Prabhas surprised fans when he mentioned that he would get married in Tirupathi.
