The one aspect that caught the attention of many is when Nag Ashwin cleared the rumors about the film, stating that he is not creating any cinematic universe with Kalki 2898 AD. Project K, as we fondly call, is a stand-alone film and there is no cinematic universe as the media is spreading rumors about it. Kalki will not have any sequels or prequels and is a standalone film, said the talented director.
Nag Ashwin also revealed that the trailer of the film will be out in three months from now. "We have created everything from scratch as there was no reference for this subject. So, the post-production is taking a lot of time" said Nag Ashwin.
Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a key role in this film which is being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies on a budget of over Rs 300 crore. The first look teaser of the film was launched at Comic-Con earlier this year.
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan will be seen as the main villain in this film which has music by Santosh Narayanan. Speaking about him, Nag Ashwin says that there is no other music director in India as rooted as Santosh is and he will take you to another world with Kalki 2898 AD. The makers are planning to release the film in June 2024, as per reports.
